The unique identifier used by Perth and Kinross Council for the specific work carried out.

Category text Category

These categories are used to identify the origin of the work. There are 5 categories:- "Roads" which is the reactive and routine maintenance carried out by the roads maintenance team; "Other Services" is work carried out by the roads maintenance team on behalf of other services within the Council; "Roads Safety and Design" is work instructed by the Roads Safety and Design Team; "Other Services (RSD)" is work instructed by the Roads Safety and Design Team on behalf of other services within the Council; "Winter" relates to the winter maintenance schedule tasks carried out.

Type text Type

This is a top level identifier of what the specific work relates to. Type descriptors are of the physical infrastructure being investigated and repaired,or the rates and costs associated with planned maintenance.

Detail text Detail

Further summary detail of the defects or reports being investigated and the repair programme that the work is carried out under.

Defect Category text Defect Category

There are different types of categorisation captured here depending on the detail of the problem. Physical defects are categorised as laid out in "Perth and Kinross Council - Inspection & Defect Categorisation Policy" https://data.pkc.gov.uk/dataset/3dc3aa62-d6a6-4f54-93ab-6d434bf64713/resource/f899908c-77ff-4a64-aed8-c1b712c5deca/download/road-defects-policy-doc-pkc.pdf NOTE: The category 3D is a holding category for category 3 defects only, and category 3 and 3D have the same response times of 30 working days. In addition, categorisation of costs and their origin are also captured as bill of quantity values or demonstrable costs values. PTU = Public Transport Unit; R = Revenue works; SOR = Schedule of Rates; TC = Tayside Contracts; UTC = Urban Traffic Control; Variation order = a variation to the original order cost which is recorded as a child of the original order.
